Recently, I got to take some photos for these adorable pups, Copper and Quidley! (And their parents of course 😂) Whitney and Chance got married back in January (you can scroll back on my page to see their beautiful wedding 😍) but they wanted to get some sweet family photos that included their fur babies. Both dogs did so good during the shoot, I love how these turned out! 🐶💕

Tips for Taking Photos with Dogs

If you’ve ever considered including your dogs in your photos, here are a few things to consider and some tips to make it happen!

  1. Choose a secluded location with limited distractions. A busy park may not be the best place for photos with a dog, so try a park with secluded areas where you can get away from people. If you have a particularly reactive dog, consider taking photos at your own home!
  2. Bring toys and treats to help get your dogs attention. This will help us get a few photos with them looking at the camera.
  3. Bring a neutral-colored leash that won’t stand out. We can try and take a few off-leash photos, but if it turns out that’s not possible, you’ll want to have a leash that doesn’t stand out.
  4. Bring a friend with you that can hold the dogs’ leashes when they’re not in photos. Unless you want your dogs’ in every single photo, you’ll want to bring someone with you to hold them while you take some images without them.
  5. Don’t forget poop bags!! We need to leave our location the same as how we found it, so that includes cleaning up after our dogs. So please don’t forget to bring the materials to do it.

Including your furry friends in photos is a great way to add some personality to your photos and really make them memorable. Just make sure you give your photographer a heads up that they’re coming and arrive prepared!
